Casting Call ! ! !

Sponsored by FCB Highland Bank

10:00 AM, Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Weinheimer Community Center

7:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2007 at the Highland Elementary Auditorium

Those auditioning will be required to prepare a short song (not from the show) which best highlights his/her vocal ability. An accompanist will be present, so it is necessary to bring the sheet music; taped accompaniment will not be allowed. Everyone will be taught a short dance routine and those seeking a speaking part will perform a cold reading from the script.

While High School Musical is the story of high school students, casting is not limited to high school students.  Quite the contrary, we are encouraging, high school, college, and recent graduates to audition for the show.   There are a lot of roles and we will need plenty of good singers, dancers, and actors.  There are also a few adult roles, so if it has been a "few" years since you graduated, don't let that scare you off.

A word to the wise - prepare your music beforehand and come with sheet music.  Nothing will turn a director off quicker than, "Well, I didn't have time to prepare anything."  That's not exactly a good way to make an impression.

While there are two audition dates, you only need to attend ONE audition.  But, please, do come on time.

So come prepared to sing (bring sheet music), dance (wear appropriate clothes and shoes) and read ("older" auditioners should bring reading glasses).  And come prepared to have a good time!
