Newsies Jr. Cast List

I would like to start by thanking everyone that came out to audition last weekend. We had such a great turnout. We were blown away by the amount of talent and kids that came out to audition. You made these many decisions that we had to make for casting this show very difficult. Everyone did an amazing job! There were oodles of tears while deciding who would not be a part of the cast. Cuts were made due to scheduling conflicts, character needs and space concerns/availability. Unfortunately, we can’t keep everyone (even though we would really like to). I want to encourage those who are not listed as part of the show this year to keep a look out for other future shows with us and keep auditioning. Again, this was a very difficult process with many late nights this week for many of the team with making these difficult decisions.

For those who are in the cast congratulations! I’m excited to start working with all of you! If you are not an assigned character and are a newsie ensemble please don’t be discouraged there are lots of songs, dances, and other chances for you to be onstage.

The first read thru with the mandatory parent meeting will be April 1st at 5:30 at the Louis Latzer Highland Library (1001 9thSt, Highland, IL 62249). Parents must be present even if the child is not available or even if the child can drive themselves.
