Giving Back

Giving Back

We’re proud to be a part of the community we serve! Our annual theater programming and philanthropic outreach efforts focus on how we can best collaborate and invest in the local schools, music and theater departments as well as the overall community. We know that live theater offers creative opportunities that engage people of different ages and backgrounds. It is our goal to tell stories that inspire our audiences to reflect on their lives and experiences, explore new and different perspectives and to ultimately ignite their creativity and imagination!

Part of being in a community is giving back to and enhancing opportunities their benefits. From the beginning Hard Road Theatre has focused on creating educational opportunities in the theatrical arts for adults and children in Highland as well as the surrounding communities! Our annual theater programming and philanthropic outreach efforts focus on how we can best collaborate and partner with the local school administration, music and theater departments and the overall community. Over the last 20 years we have given back to the community in so many ways. Below are a few tangible examples:

Cool Money

In 2005, realizing the importance of having a climate-controlled performance space for summer shows, Hard Road pledged to donate over $50,000 for the Elementary Auditorium Air Conditioning Project. Hard Road’s involvement in the project also spurred on many other large donations by community groups all across Highland, which totaled, well over $100,000!

Odd Couple
Gives Back

In 2013, Hard Road brought back Bill Sullivan and John Jatcko,  from one of their very first shows, The Odd Couple. All the proceeds from this limited engagement show, which totaled close to $5000, were donated to the HACSM Food Pantry.

Drink, Drank, Drunk

In the 2014-15 Season Hard Road donated $1 to HACSM from every ticket sold for the show Drinking Habits. This generous act raised almost $1000 for the local food bank!

LEt There Be Light!

Hard Road has used the Elementary Auditorium for many of it’s shows over the years. Several years ago Hard Road bought and installed over $10,000 worth of equipment upgrades, including dimmer packs and LED Lighting, making the space safer and more efficient.

Floor It!

In 2017, Hard Road paid to have the aging stage floor in the Elementary Auditorium redone. This upgrade cost upwards of $5,000 and improved the safety of the space and renewed it for many years to come!
