FAME JR. opens in less than two weeks! Performances will be held at the Highland High School Kennel. Seating in this space IS LIMITED and we are expecting some sold-out shows. It is highly recommended that you purchase your tickets online in advance to ensure you will be able to see the performance you wish (besides, tickets purchased online are cheaper than tickets purchased at the door). Don’t miss out!
First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who came out to audition. Auditioning is not easy and I applaud each and every person for coming out. Thank you for giving of your time and your talents. I have directed a lot of shows (something like 16+, but who’s counting?) and this was the best and the most difficult audition that I have ever been a part of as a director. Every person who came out gave a phenomenal performance. I was very, very impressed and, truthfully, was blown away and stunned. In all the shows that I have directed and assistant directed, this show was by far the most difficult to cast. There were no easy choices to make. I wrestled with these decisions for a long time and the casting was not easy. Honestly and sincerely, these were the hardest casting choices I have ever made in my life.
The read-through for 9 TO 5 will be Wednesday, May 28th at 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Elementary Auditorium. If you choose not to except a role, please let me know ASAP (please call me at (217) 556-6399 or send me an email at evan@hardroad.org). If I do not hear from you by 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 26th, it is assumed you have accepted the role(s) you have been cast and will be a part of the show.

Hard Road Theatre, with sponsorship from TheBANK of Edwardsville & SOGA OB/GYN, is proud to announce auditions for our Summer Adult Musical: 9 TO 5. Based on the 1980 movie of the same name, 9 TO 5 features music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, May 21st and Friday, May 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Highland Upper Elementary School at 1800 Lindenthal Ave., Highland, IL. Those auditioning should come prepared with a Broadway-style piece of music to sing that fits their vocal range. An accompanist will be provided, but no recordings will be allowed. Those auditioning will also be asked to learn a short dance routine. Anyone auditioning should also be aware of any potential conflicts they have between May 25th– August 3rd. There are several parts for both men and women. 9 TO 5 will be directed by Evan Fifer with musical direction by David Wilton. Performances will be July 25-27 and August 1-3, 2014.
